1998 AT&T与Yahoo!

Boo.com, a high-profile online designer clothing retailer based in the U.K., is placed in receivership and its assets are liquidated less than a year after its launch. What makes the failure so notable amidst the many other failures following the dot-com bubble is that many analysts will attribute the company’s poor sales to its poor website’s poor design. The site ignored nearly all usability conventions. Its homepage alone was a major obstacle, forcing dial-up users to wait for several minutes to load its Flash and Javascript pseudo-3D interface. To their enduring infamy, it took the company’s two Swedish co-founders just six months to burn through US$188 million of venture capital.
